My favorite galbijim place in ny/nj. We've been coming since the old location and they've increased the prices by quite a bit after the move. It's tough in this economy but we still love this place and will still come back for their galbijim!
PyeongAnDong
About this place
Find PyeongAnDong in Fort Lee (the area) when you want a kitchen that still feels human. From the door you notice a family-friendly room, then a casual welcome settles in as you sit.
If you only remember three names, make them house specialties, plates built for sharing, and the kitchen's daily strengths. Everything else is supporting cast.
Guests tend to linger. That is a feature: conversations stretch, plates get passed, and nobody rushes the check. Weeknights usually run quieter than weekends. The listing address is 89 Main St, Fort Lee, NJ 07024 .
Come for a solid meal, stay because PyeongAnDong treats Fort Lee guests like neighbors rather than tickets.
Before you visit, skim recent neighbor notes on the listing and confirm hours on the door. Platefolk keeps this page as a field guide, not a frozen brochure - the best proof is still sitting down for a meal.
What we value here is consistency: a kitchen that repeats its strengths, a room that does not treat guests like tickets, and a PyeongAnDong visit that still feels worth the trip across town. Bring curiosity, order something the staff recommends, and leave a short note afterward so the next diner arrives wiser.

Came here to celebrate a birthday with friends, and we have such a wonderful experience. The ambiance is lovely, every dish is delicious, and the staff were really sweet and kind 🥹. A warm and delicious dinner, will definitely return ❤️
I found this restaurant while heading to another place but decided to stop in.It seems to be new, as everything looks fresh and well-kept. We arrived around 5 p.m. on a Saturday evening and were seated right away, but by around 6 p.m. the place was packed. We ordered two dishes, both of which tasted authentic and delicious. Each table also received a complimentary pancake, which was a nice touch. There were many Korean customers dining here, so I’d say it’s 100% authentic.
Super impressed with this place! Every single dish was tasty, even the side dishes. The eel was the highlight — no bones and packed with flavor, absolutely amazing! Loved the cold noodles too, super fine with a great bite, and the sauce was on point. The beef brisket was tender and lean with a really unique taste. The pancake was fragrant and so good! Service was great, and parking is just about a minute’s walk away. Definitely coming back!
Super quick serviceDelicious foodWe had 2 beef based dishes and a kimchi soup with hand pulled noodles. The soup was like a warm hug,and it is a great combo for the heavier dishes. The Galbi and Bulgogi dishes were very fresh and the meet was perfectly seasoned. All comes with an assortment of side dishes, including a savory pancake which was flavorful and went great with the meal.Definitely recommend for lunch/dinner!
It may because we came right after the lunch peak but service was rather slow here and not as attentive as most Korean spots we go to. Food is decent, especially the spicy pork belly and the cold noodle but the signature beef dish didn’t seem to stay heated and the pancakes were not crisp. Overall felt decent but maybe we came at the wrong time.
Not only the food is amazing but the server is exceptional! Auntie helped us with cooking, and showed us the best way to enjoy the food. Free refill of the small dishes, the special rice cake is so good!! The beef rib is a must must have! Cold noodle with it is refreshing, and we really enjoyed the oyster seaweed soup!
Nice Korean restaurant with lovely decor. Service was great. Galbijjim was spot on. Side dishes not enough variety but nonetheless delish. The fried rice on the grill was not the best. Parking was a bit tricky. Will be returning.
All the side dishes were great, especially the oyster kimchi was the real highlight 🦪🙆♀️Everything tasted super fresh, and you have to try the galbijjim and braised kimchi with pork bones 🥹 so good! The galbijjim is a bit spicy 🌶️ but it balances the richness perfectly :)Great atmosphere too 🙌 perfect for bringing your parents :)Next time, I’m getting the galbijjim with noodles and fried rice for sure! 😋
